At least three White House officials, including communications director Hope Hicks and counsel Don McGahn, are scheduled to be interviewed in the coming weeks by investigators for special counsel Robert Mueller, CNN is reporting.
Also set to be questioned is Josh Raffel, a communications aide to White House senior adviser Jared Kushner, according to the news network. Kushner also is President Donald Trump's son-in-law.
All three have spent substantial time around the top echelon of the Trump administration, CNN said.
Other staff members also are expected to be interviewed by Mueller's investigators, who are looking into Russia's meddling in the 2016 presidential election.
CNN claimed the list of high-profile interviews is "pushing the investigation closer to President Donald Trump and his family."
Others already interviewed include senior policy adviser Stephen Miller and former chief of staff Reince Priebus, according to CNN.
One GOP operative interviewed by The Washington Post described Mueller's investigators "working through the staff like Pac-Man."
"These things are thorough and deep," said the Republican. "It's going to be a long winter."
