Republican National Committee chief strategist Sean Spicer is the frontrunner to be White House Press Secretary in the Donald Trump administration, The Hill reported Thursday.
The Hill quoted a source "familiar with the internal deliberations" saying Spicer is "the leading contender."
The Washington Examiner reported Spicer is expected to be named to the position, perhaps as early as Friday.
"Sean has come out to be the leading contender for the podium position," a GOP source told the Examiner.
Spicer's boss at the RNC, chairman Reince Priebus, already has been tapped as Trump's chief of staff.
Others said to be in contention are conservative talk radio host Laura Ingraham, The Daily Mail's David Martoskore and Fox News host Kimberly Guilfoyle.
