Sen. Elizabeth Warren Sunday had a quick answer when a voter asked her who her choice for her own Vice President Mike Pence would be.
The voter had asked the Massachusetts Democrat in Lebanon, NH, if she ever whispers to her golden retriever, Bailey, "Who is going to be my Mike Pence?" reports The Hill.
Warren deadpanned, "I already have a dog," drawing cheers from the audience.
She also described her ideal running mate and cabinet members but didn't name any names.
“I want people who are there because they believe in public service," she said. "I want people who are gonna be good partners in this fight. I want people who are willing to pick up the tools that are already there and to use them on behalf of the public."
She added that it's easy to get discouraged and say Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., "just ruins everything."
"There's a lot of truth in that, too, but it isn't everything," she said. "There is a lot we can still do.”
Warren said her ideal running mate and vice president would be someone "in the fight" with her.
“I want smart people. ... I want people who have ideas," she said. "I want people who have worked in the fields. I want people who believe that they can be part of putting the government on the side of our citizens instead of on the sides of giant corporations.”
