Almost two-thirds of voters now have an unfavorable opinion of the Republican Party, according to a Suffolk University-USA Today poll released Thursday.
According to the poll results, most of the politicians in Washington draw unfavorable opinions.
- 62 percent see the Republican Party unfavorably
- 64.4 percent view the U.S. Congress unfavorably
- 56.6 percent view President Donald Trump unfavorably
- 54.2 view the news media unfavorably
- 47.8 percent see the Democrats unfavorably
- 43.7 percent see Vice President Mike Pence unfavorably
The poll asked a number of questions about healthcare, and found more support for Democrats on the topic.
- 43.1 percent look to Democrats in Congress to protect families regarding healthcare
- 14.9 percent trust Trump on healthcare
- 9.9 percent trust the Republican Party on healthcare
Trump mostly has not delivered on his campaign promises, according to those who took the poll.

His performance as president is worse than almost half of the poll's respondents expected.
- 46.7 percent said Trump is doing a worse job than they expected
- 25.7 percent said he is doing better than they expected
- 21.9 percent believe he is doing the same as how they expected
"The Republican Party is in freefall. In March, the GOP had a 48 percent unfavorable rating. In June, the negative swelled to 55 percent. Today, the GOP unfavorable is 62 percent. What's next?” said David Paleologos, the Suffolk University poll director.
The poll was conducted from Sept. 27 to Oct. 1 and contacted 1,000 likely voters in phone calls. The margin of error is plus or minus 3 percent.
