President Donald Trump's approval rating dropped one point from March in the latest Fox News poll.

The numbers show Trump with a 44 percent approval rating and a 53 percent disapproval rating. The same poll last month gave Trump a 45 percent approval rating and a 52 percent disapproval rating.

Other key figures in the poll data:

  • Voters are split at 45 percent in their approval/disapproval of Trump's handling of North Korea, with an historic summit between Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un on the horizon.
  • Voters are also split regarding Trump's handling of the economy at 47 percent approval/disapproval.
  • The Democratic Party has a 47 percent favorable rating, compared to Trump (43 percent), the Republican Party (41 percent), and FBI special counsel Robert Mueller (39 percent).
  • 9 percent said economic conditions are excellent, a drop from the 17 percent figure in January but significantly higher than it was during the Obama administration. The highest figure under former President Barack Obama was 4 percent in April 2009, but the majority of Fox News polls found it to be at 1 or 2 percent during his two terms in office.
  • 32 percent said the economy will get better over the next year, with 27 percent saying it will get worse.
