Massachusetts' Republican Gov. Charlie Baker announced Tuesday he will seek re-election, the Boston Herald reports.
Baker and Lt. Gov. Karyn Polito are expected to make a formal announcement next year, the newspaper said.
"The Governor and Lt. Governor intend to seek re-election, and will begin to build a campaign organization over the coming months," said Jim Conroy, Baker's top political aide, in a statement. "With election day still a year away, the Governor and Lt. Governor remain focused on the bipartisan work they were elected to do."
And Baker also took to Twitter to confirm he is running again.
