Sarah Palin is coming to Georgia to stump for Karen Handel in a Republican runoff for the governor's race.
The former Alaska governor will appear at a rally in the Atlanta area with the former Georgia secretary of state on Aug. 9, the day before the runoff.
Palin's endorsement of Handel before the July primary was widely credited with helping catapult her into the runoff as the top vote-getter.
Handel is facing ex-congressman Nathan Deal for the GOP nomination to take on Democrat Roy Barnes.
Palin has said women activists — or "mama grizzlies" as she calls them — will lead a conservative wave this November. Palin's support for Nikki Haley in South Carolina is credited with helping fuel Haley's win in the Republican gubernatorial primary there.
