U.S. Ambassador to Germany Richard Grenell said President Donald Trump deserves the credit for the deportation of a 95-year-old former Nazi concentration camp guard who had been living in the U.S.
Jakiw Palij, who lived in New York City, has been deported to Germany, He had been a guard at the Trawniki camp.
In 2004, a judge had ordered him deported, but he continued to live in the U.S. because no country would accept him.
"It’s really a credit to President Trump who was very clear about this case." Grenell said Tuesday on "Fox & Friends." "He wanted this individual out of the United States."
He said Germany was pressed to accept him since he had once served that nation.
