A former staffer for ex-President Barack Obama, who also served on Hillary Clinton's campaign tweeted "I hope he dies" after President Donald Trump was announced to have contracted COVID-19, Newsweek reported.
Zara Rahim made the shocking statement on Twitter before deleting the tweet and making her account private, according to the report.
Rahim is not a Twitter neophyte in making such an egregious statement, having served as in President Obama's Office of Digital Strategy. Nor is she new to public relations, having served as Clinton's national spokeswoman during her failed 2016 president campaign.
The full tweet that was deleted, per Newsweek:
"It's been against my moral identity to tweet this for the past four years, but, I hope he dies."
Her Twitter account is now hidden from the public.
