President Donald Trump ratcheted up his mission to expose the so-called "Spygate" on Thursday, tweeting that trusted FBI agents are beginning to turn on their corrupt bosses and zeroing in on "terrible" James Comey.
Trump's angry tweets followed a torrent of similar posts on Wednesday in which the commander in chief attacked reports concerning alleged FBI surveillance of his presidential campaign.
On Tuesday, Clapper, former director of National Intelligence, told
ABC's "The View" that a "spy" was with the campaign to investigate Russian interference, while denying the informant was there to spy on the campaign itself, and that Trump should be happy that person was there.
"They were spying on, a term I don't particularly like, but on what the Russians were doing," Clapper said Tuesday. "Trying to understand were the Russians infiltrating, trying to gain access, trying to gain leverage or influence which is what they do."
