President Donald Trump's personal assistant was fired and escorted from the White House on Monday over an undisclosed security issue, The Wall Street Journal reported.
John McEntee will now join Trump's re-election campaign, it announced Tuesday. McEntee was part of Trump's first presidential campaign.
McEntee was not even allowed to collect his personal belongings prior to being escorted out, the Journal reported.
McEntee's departure comes in the aftermath of the Rob Porter scandal which put a spotlight on the nearly 100 White House staffers who were working without security clearances.
