President Donald Trump confirmed he has not talked to former President Barack Obama since the inauguration in January, The Washington Times reported.

"Since I took office, no," Trump told the Times.

Trump acknowledged it was "too bad" they had not been in touch, the newspaper said. But he said given their history it is not surprising. He also brushed aside the comments the two men have said in reference to one another, the Times noted.

Earlier this year, Trump had claimed Obama ordered surveillance of Trump Tower during the campaign, The Hill pointed out.

"I wouldn't say I've been exactly great to him, either," Trump said. "It's too bad, but I'm not totally surprised. I'm disappointed when I look at the surveillance, I'm very disappointed when I saw that."
