President-elect Donald Trump's lawyers moved Thursday to block the vote recount in Pennsylvania, accusing Green Party candidate Jill Stein of trying to take command of the state's electoral process.
"Despite being no more than a blip on the electoral radar, Stein has now commandeered Pennsylvania's electoral process, with an eye toward doing the same to the Electoral College," the attorneys say in the complaint, obtained by Politico.
"There is no evidence — or even an allegation — that any tampering with Pennsylvania's voting systems actually occurred."
In Pennsylvania, Trump defeated Clinton by about 71,000 votes, or 1 percent. Democratic Secretary of State Pedro Cortes said there was no evidence either of voting irregularities or cyber attacks on voting machines on the state. Ninety-six percent of the machines record votes electronically, and do not leave paper records.
The Trump camp filed a similar complaint in Michigan on Thursday to dismiss Stein's claims of irregularities and the potential for hacking into scanning devices. Trump defeated Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton by 10,704 votes, out of the nearly 4.8 million ballots that were cast.
Stein has also sought a recount in Wisconsin, where the state's Republican Party filed a complaint with the Federal Election Committee, saying Stein's push for a recount was filed to benefit Clinton.
Stein said Trump's efforts to block her call for recounts are "outrageous."
"The recount in Michigan, which has been driven by an outpouring of grassroots support in the state — will go forward," she said in a statement issued Thursday.
"The Michigan Board of State Canvassers and Director of Elections has been a model of professionalism in moving this recount forward in an efficient, transparent manner. Yet the Trump campaign's cynical efforts to delay the recount and create unnecessary costs for taxpayers are shameful and outrageous."
