House Democrats expect to hear testimony next week from five additional administration officials as part of the impeachment inquiry against President Donald Trump, NBC News is reporting.
The network attributed its information to two congressional staffers. Those testifying in front of the House committees conducting the inquiry are expected to provide insight into how the administration made decisions about Ukraine.
In some instances, the committees have followed up requests to testify with subpoenas. In those cases, the people have agreed to testify, despite the White House and State Department objecting, NBC News noted.
Here are the five called to testify:
- Philip Reeker, acting assistant secretary of European and Eurasian Affairs at the State Department is scheduled to appear Oct. 23.
- Alexander Vindman, director of European affairs at the National Security Council, is set to testify on Oct. 24.
- Suriya Jayanti, a foreign service officer at the U.S. embassy in Ukraine, is scheduled to be heard on Oct. 25.
- Timothy Morrison, who succeeded Fiona Hill, a former Russia adviser at the NSC, is scheduled for Oct. 25. Hill testified on Monday.
- Kathryn Wheelbarger, acting secretary of defense for internal security affairs, is scheduled for next week.
