Voters in the key swing state of Ohio trust President Donald Trump more on the economy than they do Democrats, according to the latest Zogby Poll of likely voters.
According to the poll, almost half of Ohioans trust the Republican president, opposed to only about one-third of whom trust Democrats:
- President Trump: 49%
- Democratic leaders: 34%
- Not sure: 17%
The pollsters noted that the economy is the biggest issue in national and statewide elections, and Ohio is a noted bellwether state with the presidential candidate who who won Ohio winning the presidency 29 out of 31 elections sinc 1896.
Recent good economic news, including the lowest unemployment numbers in 50 years, have been touted by Trump and his administration.
"Right now Ohioans are enjoying the fruits of a decent economy and Trump owns it," the pollsters noted. "So if it continues to hum until the election, he should be able to win re-election, that's if impeachment doesn't derail his re-election bid."
Ohio voters were more split on other issues.

Zogby Analytics talked to 532 likely voters in Ohio in an online survey. It has a marged over error of 4.3 percentage points.
