President Donald Trump sent out his congratulations to the Washington Capitals for the team's Stanley Cup victory.
Trump's comments came in a Friday morning tweet.
The hockey team beat the Vegas Golden Knights on Thursday night to take home the Stanley Cup.
Prior to the win, Devante Smith-Pelly of the Capitals said he would not go to the White House should the team be invited by Trump, according to the National Post.
"The things that he spews are straight-up racist and sexist," Smith-Pelly said.
On Monday, Trump had called off a visit by the Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles, citing a dispute over whether NFL players must stand during the national anthem.
