President Donald Trump expressed confidence Friday that Democrats would confirm his Cabinet nominees — hours after Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer slammed them as "a disaster" and "the swamp Cabinet."
"Our Cabinet is lined up and ready," Trump said in a brief speech at the Inauguration Luncheon at Statuary Hall in the U.S. Capitol. "I know Chuck is eventually going to approve them.
"I really believe that.
"We're all dealing together and all want the same thing, whether you're a Republican or Democrat, doesn't make any difference," Trump added. "We're going to get along — and it's an honor."
In an interview earlier Friday on CNN's "New Day," Schumer — who represents New York — said that Trump's choices had "more conflicts of interest than you have ever seen.
"People whose positions are fundamentally different than President-elect Trump's."
