The Trump campaign is not backing down from filing legal challenges related to the election, The Hill reports.
Matt Morgan, general counsel for the president’s reelection campaign, said the “election is not over.”
“The false projection of Joe Biden as the winner is based on results in four states that are far from final,” Morgan said, referring to Biden’s lead in Georgia, Pennsylvania, Arizona, and Nevada. “Biden is relying on these states for his phony claim on the White House, but once the election is final, President Trump will be reelected.”
Counting ballots is still underway in several key states. On Friday, Biden took over the lead in Georgia and Pennsylvania.
Trump has claimed that Democrats are trying to steal the election away from him. He has called for vote counting to stop in several states and said he wants the Supreme Court to determine the outcome of the election.
According to The Hill, Morgan indicated that the campaign will likely request a recount in Georgia. He noted that the Trump campaign will likely find ballots that were “improperly harvested.”
In Pennsylvania, the Trump campaign already won a legal challenge to allow its election monitors to move closer to vote counters. The campaign is also likely to challenge a state Supreme Court ruling that allows ballots postmarked by Nov. 3 to be received by Friday.
In Nevada, the Trump campaign alleges that thousands of individuals “improperly cast mail ballots.” And in Arizona, the Trump’s camp thinks the final vote count will reflect a win for the president.
