Americans don’t view either presidential candidate favorably, according to a new poll.
A Gallup poll released Friday, indicates favorability for both President Donald Trump and former Vice President Joe Biden is below 50%. The sentiment for Vice President Mike Pence and Biden’s running mate Sen. Kamala Harris is also under 50%.
Poll results show:
- 46% of Americans say they view Biden favorably.
- 41% of Americans say they see Trump favorably.
- 42% of Americans say they see Harris in a favorable way.
- 41% of Americans say they view Pence favorably.
Both presidential candidates received higher unfavorable ratings than favorable ratings, according to the poll. Americans view Trump more unfavorably than they do Biden, according to results. Fifty-seven percent of Americans view Trump unfavorably compared to 50% who feel that way of Biden.
But Trump is viewed more positively now than he was in 2016. According to a poll during the same time frame four years ago, only 33% of Americans viewed him favorably, while 62% viewed him unfavorably.
Gallup surveyed 1,019 Americans between Aug. 31-Sept. 13. The poll has a margin of error of ±4 percentage points.
