GOP presidential front-runner Donald Trump's campaign released an Instagram video Friday focusing on rival Texas Sen. Ted Cruz's unpopularity, even among Republican colleagues.
In an
Instagram post, the opening text declares: "Nobody likes Ted...."
"Ted Cruz was my roommate. I did not like him at all in college," Craig Mazin, a screenwriter says in the video. Mazin had already detailed his dislike of Cruz in a
Daily Beast interview in 2013.
The video also notes former Republican presidential nominee and ex-Sen. Bob Dole proclaimed he might "oversleep" on Election Day if Cruz is the nominee, while South Carolina GOP Sen. Lindsey Graham — who's endorsed Cruz — declares his upper chamber colleague has been as bad as President Barack Obama "if not worse."
The video ends with an interview clip of Fox News host Bill O'Reilly telling Cruz it was reported former President George W. Bush didn't like him, before flashing the text "TRUSTED?"
It's not the first time Trump has focused on Cruz's likability.
"Nobody likes him anywhere once they get to know him," Trump said during an appearance on
ABC's "This Week" in January.
On ABC's "Jimmy Kimmel Live" Wednesday, Cruz addressed his unpopularity in Washington as the price you pay for trying to shake-up the status quo.
"When you stand up to Washington, they don't like it," Cruz said,
the Blaze reports.
