The unnamed author of the book "A Warning," who claims to be a senior Trump administration official, said during an online chat that he or she will reveal their name to President Donald Trump before the 2020 election.

"Trump will hear from me, in my own name, before the 2020 election," the author said in a discussion on Reddit.

The message board's moderators posted a note before the chat began explaining that while they could not verify that the person conducting the chat was the anonymous author, the book's publisher confirmed that it was.

"As far as anonymity is concerned, I will not keep my identity shrouded in secrecy forever," the person wrote. "I am not afraid to use my own name to express concern about the current occupant of the Oval Office. Donald Trump has not heard the last of me. There is more to come."

The anonymous author wrote a New York Times piece in September 2018 claiming to be  a high-ranking official in the Trump administration who is working behind the scenes "to frustrate parts of his agenda and his worst inclinations."

The book expands on that and sheds more light on the person's concerns about Trump serving as president.

"Other people who are currently serving, and who have left, are also considering adding their voices before votes are cast in 2020. We talk about this with some regularity," the person, who claimed to be a "concerned American," wrote on Reddit.

"In the meantime, Trump must answer to the American people for his own conduct instead of redirecting their attention."

Regarding the ongoing impeachment probe that's looking at whether Trump used his office for political gain by trying to persuade Ukraine to investigate his 2020 rival Joe Biden for corruption, the unnamed official said what happened is clear.

"There is no doubt in my mind that Donald Trump demanded a quid pro quo from Ukraine in order to disrupt the 2020 election. Everyone in the White House knows this, including the president himself," Anonymus wrote on Reddit.

"Now the question is whether it rises to the level of 'high crimes and misdemeanors.' I personally think that it now does."
