As Vice President Mike Pence heads to Kentucky to pitch the GOP healthcare replacement, President Donald Trump took to Twitter Saturday where he said Republicans are "making great progress" in their bid to repeal and replace Obamacare.
Trump tweeted:
"We are making great progress with healthcare. ObamaCare is imploding and will only get worse. Republicans coming together to get job done!"
Minutes later, Pence took to twitter announcing he landed in Kentucky where he will present the administration's case for healthcare to unimpressed Republican Gov. Matt Bevin.
Pence tweeted:
Pence is also scheduled to tour an energy services company with Bevin.
Currently, House Republican leaders are in a standoff with conservatives over the American Health Care Act that was unveiled Monday and rapidly moving to the House floor.
According to reports, select conservatives on Capitol Hill and beyond are oddly taking sides with Democratic congressional leaders and vowing to vote against the legistlation unless substancial changes are made.
Trump has backed the AHCA, but conservatives, such as Sen. Rand Paul, have noted that the president seems more open to negotiating the bill than Speaker Paul Ryan, R-Wis.
