President Barack Obama has reportedly been acting as "educator-in-chief" to his successor when the pair have discussed some of President-elect Donald Trump's Cabinet choices.

On CNN's "Newsroom" on Thursday, host Brooke Baldwin speculated if the White House is wondering "how much of Obama's policies from the last eight years will be rolled back based upon these conservative [Cabinet] picks."

"We have reporting, which is fascinating, this back-and-forth between the president-elect and the president from [CNN chief political correspondent] Dana Bash that President Obama has been acting as 'educator in chief' trying to change Trump's mind on some of his policies and protect his own legacy," Baldwin said.

CNN political editor Juana Summers agreed: "The idea that President-elect Trump is turning to President Obama – two men who haven't had anything kind or charitable to say about each other during the course of the campaign – to inform this process and deliberation is really telling, and perhaps gives us the best insight we've seen as to how Trump is thinking about and constructing and putting together his White House or administration."
