Quinnipiac Poll: Republican Sen. Toomey in Virtual Tie in Penn.

Republican Sen. Pat Toomey is in a virtual tie with Democrat Katie McGinty in the tight Pennsylvania Senate race.

The results of the Quinnipiac University poll:

• McGinty: 48 percent.
• Toomey: 47 percent.

McGinty's lead is well within the poll's 4-point margin of error.

The race is playing a key role in Democrats' push to take control of the Senate. Currently, the GOP has a four-seat majority in the chamber.

Toomey has not said whether he will vote for Republican Donald Trump in the presidential race.
