Rep. Tim Ryan, D-Ohio, slammed a Thursday tweet from President Donald Trump in which the president referenced "good old global warming."
"Global climate change is happening, with life and death implications for untold millions around the world," Ryan said, adding that he was grateful for the international community and U.S. cities and states that were providing leadership on the issue.
Ryan was referencing a tweet where the president said that the U.S. was going to pay "trillions" to combat global warming where other countries were not.
In June, Trump announced that the U.S. would exit the Paris climate accord, an international agreement to cut down on carbon emissions. The U.S. is now the only country on Earth that is not part of the agreement, according to The New York Times.
The Ohio congressman has been critical of Trump before. On Dec. 15, he said the president's push for tax reform legislation goes back on his promise to working Americans.
