Donald Trump has surged to a double-digit lead in Texas over rival Hillary Clinton, a new poll showed Tuesday.
According to the KTVT CBS 11 Dixie Strategies survey, Trump has 52 percent support of likely voters in the Lone Star State, Clinton is backed by 39 percent.
Early in October, the same poll had Clinton just 7 points behind the GOP nominee.
In other findings:
- Trump has the support of 54 percent of men compared with Clinton's 35 percent support; among women, he leads Clinton 49 percent to 43 percent.
- Trump has the support of 89 percent of Republicans in the state Clinton has 90 percent of Democrats backing her.
- Trump is viewed favorably by 52 percent and unfavorably by 45 percent.
- Clinton is viewed favorably by just 39 percent, and unfavorably by 58 percent.
The poll's margin of error is plus or minus 3.13 percentage points.
