Former Vice President Joe Biden is narrowly leading in several key swing states.
The website, FiveThirtyEight, looked at the average margin in key states where at least three polls were conducted in April.
Here’s what it found:
- Wisconsin — Biden leads Trump 48% to 44%.
- Florida — Biden leads Trump 47% to 43%.
- Pennsylvania — Biden leads Trump 48% to 43%
- Michigan — Biden leads Trump 49% to 43%.
FiveThirtyEight noted the Barack Obama carried all four states in 2012. It pointed out that if Biden wins all of the states Hillary Clinton won in 2016, and any combination of three of these four swings states, he would defeat Trump.
But FiveThirtyEight also said that if Biden’s national 6-point lead narrows, the races in these swings states likely would be much closer, if not lean toward Trump.
And the data suggests Trump could have an Electoral College advantage again allowing him to lose the popular vote and still win the election.
