Sen. Susan Collins will not be attending a retreat for GOP lawmakers in West Virginia this week, The Hill is reporting.
"I'm not going to the retreat," she said Tuesday. "I have some commitments in Maine that I missed because of the government shutdown. . . So, I'm going to Maine."
Republicans are expected to head to West Virginia on Wednesday for a joint House-Senate retreat, according to The Hill. The retreat follows President Donald Trump's State of the Union address.
Trump is expected to make an appearance at the retreat on Thursday.
The closed retreat sessions will focus on tax reform, workforce development and infrastructure, according to CNN.
Vice President Mike Pence, along with Secretary of State Rex Tillerson and United Nations Ambassador Nikki Haley also are expected to address lawmakers.
