Rep. Steve Scalise said he would vote to impeach Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein.
“People want to know what is going on to root out the bad apples at the FBI… all they need to do is turn over the documents and everything will be fine,” the Louisiana Republican said Thursday on Fox News’ "America’s Newsroom."
“Right now, Rosenstein has not done his job in complying with Congress. What we are saying is, here is a tool that Congress still has, go do your job and comply so we don’t have to get to this. It’s all up to him. If Rosenstein wants to comply and turn over the documents, we won’t have this conversation,” Scalise said.
“Frankly, it’s mindboggling that Justice won’t comply,” said Scalise, referring to the Justice Department.
Republican lawmakers on Wednesday introduced articles of impeachment against Rosenstein, arguing that the official is not providing documents to Congress as requested.
While some documents have been supplied, “it’s time for them to finish the job,” Scalise said.
Some lawmakers are predicting the impeachment of Rosenstein is unlikely
