Rep. Steve King, R-Iowa, said Friday diversity is not America's greatest strength, a statement that's sure to generate conversation.

King, who has come under fire in the past for making controversial statements, posted this pair of tweets Friday morning:

King posted his thoughts as lawmakers grapple with what to do regarding people who are currently in the United States under the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program, which allows people who illegally came to the U.S. as children with their parents to temporarily stay under certain conditions. Attorney General Jeff Sessions announced in September the program will be phased out in March.

In the meantime, President Donald Trump tasked lawmakers on Capitol Hill to come up with a more permanent solution regarding DACA recipients.
