The earliest the House of Representatives will reconvene is Friday, according to new guidance released by House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer.
Hoyer, D-Md., issued guidelines Monday that indicate the earliest the House can get back to work is Friday.
"Members will be given 72-hours' notice of when they would need to return to Washington, D.C.," the guidance said, hinting that it's "possible" the House could meet this week.
Hoyer also said conversations on the next stimulus relief package and a rule change to allow proxy voting are ongoing.
Democrat leaders previously said the House will consider those two pieces of legislation when lawmakers return to the Capitol.
The Senate is in session this week.
