American Action Network, an outside group aligned with House Republican leadership, is thanking Rep. Elise Stefanik, R-N.Y., in a new ad campaign for "distinguishing herself" during the impeachment inquiry hearings, Roll Call is reporting.
The group is spending $150,000 on a television and digital ad in Stefanik's upstate New York district, according to the news outlet.
Stefanik is the only GOP woman on the House Intelligence Committee.
"Congresswoman Stefanik is a star who has distinguished herself in the fight to stop this partisan impeachment charade," AAN president Dan Conston said. "Stefanik deserves praise for calling out this madness and doing what's right both for the country and her constituents."
The ad runs for 30 seconds.
"Now it's crystal clear: Their partisan impeachment is a politically motivated charade," the narrator says in the spot. "Thankfully, Congresswoman Elise Stefanik believes the voters should be the ones deciding elections. She's focusing on the issues that matter — making sure our military has the resources and training they need and deserve and standing up for our farmers."
The ad urges voters to thank her.
On Thursday, Stefanik continued to speak out against the impeachment inquiry, saying the Democrats' case against President Donald Trump is "crumbling."
