White House spokesman Sean Spicer ripped The Hill on Twitter Saturday for a "misleading and wrong" picture in a tweet on a story about President Donald Trump's visit to his Virginia golf course.
Here's Spicer's post:
The Hill reported that President Trump "paid a visit to one of his golf courses again Saturday, marking apparently his ninth visit to a golf course in the seven weeks since he took office."
He visited the Trump National Golf Club in Virginia, about 25 miles outside Washington — but the trip "wasn't exactly leisure," according to the report.
The newspaper said that Trump met with Cabinet secretaries to discuss healthcare reform. The president also praised "the Secret Service for its efforts to stop an intruder at the White House."
Early press reports about the trip did not say whether Trump was playing golf, with White House aide Dan Scavino pushing back on those dispatches.
Scavino said that the president "was meeting with senior staff and Cabinet officials, indicating that he was there for work and not to play golf," the Hill reports.
He also slammed the picture in the Hill tweet:
In addition, Fox News producer Fin Gomez posted a tweet that included a press pool picture of President Trump's meeting:
The Hill published the picture and Gomez's tweet in its report.
