Hedge fund manager Seth Klarman, a former GOP megadonor, is supporting Democrats in the 2018 midterm elections, The Hill reported.
Klarman donated more than $2.9 million to Republicans in the 2016 cycle, and in the 2018 cycle, he is donating hundreds of thousands to more than 80 Democratic candidates, Forward reported.
The hedge fund manager has donated to only one Republican in this cycle: Rep. Elise Stefanik, R-N.Y., to whom he gave $2,700, the report said.
Among those candidates are at least 47 running for House of Representatives seats and 17 running for the Senate, as Democrats aim to take back both chambers of Congress, The Hill reported.
Klarman, who Warren Buffett dubbed “The Oracle of Boston,” has been critical of President Donald Trump.
“The erratic tendencies and overconfidence in his own wisdom and judgment that Donald Trump has demonstrated to date are inconsistent with strong leadership and sound decision-making,” Klarman said in February 2017.
