An attorney for Jared Kushner said a Senate panel has pushed Monday's deadline for President Donald Trump's son-in-law to turn over documents related to the Russia investigation, Politico reported.

Attorney Abbe Lowell said in a statement that he worked out a more informal arrangement with Senate Judiciary Committee chairman Sen. Chuck Grassley and ranking Democrat Sen. Dianne Feinstein, Politico reported.

"Mr. Kushner's counsel and staff from both the majority and minority spoke last week to go over the Committee's requests and a schedule for producing additional information," Lowell said in a statement.

"There is no current deadline as both the committee and Mr. Kushner's counsel are working in good faith to produce whatever else may be responsive and relevant to the Committee's inquiry."

Grassley and Feinstein had set a Monday deadline after writing a letter to Lowell two weeks ago expressing their dissatisfaction at the pace with which Kushner was turning over documents pertinent to their probe.

An aide to Feinstein told Politico that discussions between the panel and Lowell are ongoing.
