Unlike the criticism of fellow Republicans over President Donald Trump's Twitter activity, former Wisconsin GOP Gov. Scott Walker told Fox News on Friday he thought the president should "tweet more" but "be focused."
"Unlike others, I'd tell him to tweet more, to be on Facebook more, to get the message out more, but to be focused," the former 2016 presidential candidate said.
Trump created a stir on Thursday when he launched personal attacks on Twitter against MSNBC "Morning Joe" co-hosts Mika Brzezinski and Joe Scarborough, who are often openly critical of the president.
Several Republican lawmakers rebuked Trump for the tweets. Speaker of the House Paul Ryan said they were not "appropriate" and Sen. Ben Sasse, R-Neb., tweeted, "Please just stop. This isn't normal and it's beneath the dignity of your office."
Walker suggested Trump should stick to policy issues, including healthcare, tax reform and other items of his agenda, but said he liked Trump's "unfiltered" manner of expressing himself.
"Tweet more. I'm fine with that," Walker said.
