In a swap of positions, Democratic gubernatorial candidate Alex Sink has pulled ahead of GOP candidate Rick Scott in a Sunshine State News poll. While Scott was ahead of Sink 50-44 on Oct. 6, Sink now leads Scott 48-45, according to a
sunshinestatenews.com report .

Voter Survey Service, the conductor of the poll, says the results are not conclusive and that the numbers may swing back and forth ahead of the November election, though the most recent change in figures is “fairly significant.” Rick Scott’s brutal primary battle with Fla. Attorney General Bill McCollum may have left a bad impression among Republicans who favor Scott by only 79 percent.
The poll indicated that independents, who make up over a quarter of Florida’s electorate, favor Sink 50-41, though Sink’s campaign is marred by news that she granted insurance licenses to felons and by her association with an increasingly unpopular president.
