Former White House communications director Anthony Scaramucci said Monday that Republicans can win even more seats in Congress next year if the president can inform voters about his economic agenda.

"This is a unique situation where because of the president's economic agenda, if he goes out there and he uses his great salesmanship and his communication skills, I think he's going to win more and keep more congressional members than people predict," Scaramucci said on Fox News.

Although Scaramucci only worked in the White House for 11 days, he has reportedly remained close with President Donald Trump. He added in his interview that Trump's greatest accomplishment so far has been in national security, and that he predicts more success for Trump in this area.

"I think he's going to get something together with the Chinese and the North Koreans, but he's also been very strategic with the Middle East," Scaramucci added. "When he finally unfolds that plan, you'll see an opportunity there to have lasting peace."
