President Donald Trump backed press secretary Sarah Sanders, even as she comes under heat by some members of the media.
Asked during an interview with TV’s "Fox & Friends," whether Sanders would be leaving the White House, Trump said: "I don't think so."
He noted Sanders has already labeled one report of her pending departure as false. He maintained she loves the job.
"At some point, I’m sure she’ll leave like everybody leaves," he said. "We'll get somebody else. Sarah has done a fantastic job. No, I don't think she’s leaving."
And he added: "I think the press treats Sarah very unfairly. I think Sarah is good person, a nice person, very capable."
Three White House reporters had a tense and heated exchange with Sanders during Thursday’s press briefing while questioning her about the issue of separating families when they illegally come to the U.S.-Mexican border seeking admittance.
