A super political action committee connected to House Speaker Paul Ryan has pumped more than $2 million into the reelection campaign of Rep. Leonard Lance of New Jersey in what is a neck and neck race.
The $2.1 million cash injection from the Congressional Leadership Fund comes as Lance is given just a 50-50 chance for re-election, NJ.com reports.
The website said the money will be used to buy advertising time for Lance commercials.
Lance, which NJ.com calls "New Jersey's most endangered Republican," is facing former Assistant U.S. Secretary of State Tom Malinowski, a Democrat, in November in what the influential Cook Political Report says is a tossup.
The Congressional Leadership Fund, founded in 2011 as a super PAC, is dedicated to electing Republicans to the U.S. House.
