Rep. Paul Ryan: Obama Favors Unlimited Government

By    |   Tuesday, 19 July 2011 02:26 PM EDT

Paul Ryan, Barack Obama, Balanced budgetRepublicans in general aren’t so pleased with President Barack Obama’s promise to veto the cut, cap, and balance plan if it reaches his desk — it won’t, as it would never pass the Democratic-controlled Senate. In any case, though, House Budget Committee Chairman Paul Ryan is particularly displeased, The Right Scoop reports.

“What this shows you is that basically he’s going to veto limited government,” the Wisconsin Republican said in an interview with the news service. “He is going to veto the idea that government ought to live within its means and that government ought to be limited in its size.”

What Obama really favors is unlimited government, Ryan says. “That’s what this episode is all about. The fact that we’re here talking about this is because it’s been 810 days since the Senate ever bothered to pass a budget.”
