Rep. Paul Ryan, R-Wis., won a coveted Platinum Mouse Award for having the best House of Representatives website.
The nonpartisan Congressional Management Foundation, which bestows the Platinum and other awards ever two years, looked at 618 websites of House and Senate members and those of various congressional committees. Of those, 98 received either Platinum, Gold, Silver, or Bronze Mouse awards,
The Washington Post reported.
The best Senate website award went to Sen. Mark Begich, D-Alaska, and House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., walked away with the best leadership site.
The House Committee on Education and the Workforce, headed by Rep. John Kline, R-Minn., was judged the best committee site, the Post reported.
On the downside, the foundation noted that a “significant number of member websites lack basic educational and transparency features and content valuable to their constituents” and “a significant number of member websites do not offer basic information about their activities, the work of the Congress, or even the legislative process,” the Post reported.
