House Speaker Paul Ryan met with Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein and FBI Director Christopher Wray Wednesday to discuss the House Russia probe, CNN reports.

The House investigation is one of four into Russian meddling in the 2016 presidential election, including Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s. Rosenstein requested the meeting, according to a congressional aide who spoke to The Washington Post.

Republicans on the House Intelligence Committee are eager to wrap up the investigation, and some are accusing Democrats of wanting a probe without end. Democratic Rep. Mike Quigley of Illinois, a House panel member, on Tuesday called on Ryan to make sure the “investigation moves forward appropriately.”

"Who can do the most to make sure that this investigation moves forward appropriately? It's the speaker of the House," Quigley told CNN. "He is facilitating the chairman of the Intelligence Committee's desire to take this investigation to a different place and to hinder the Russia investigation."

Ryan spokeswoman AshLee Strong said the probe “will conclude when the committee has reached a conclusion. It's clear by the endless political posturing by some House Democrats that they would like to see this investigation go on forever. Whether it concludes next month, next year, or in three years, they'll say it's too soon."
