Rush Limbaugh said on his show Tuesday that Alabama GOP Senate candidate Roy Moore was a Democrat when he allegedly sexually assaulted two young girls.
"Did you know that before 1992 when a lot of this was going on that Judge Moore was a Democrat? You didn't know that? How about all these people now saying, 'Oh, yeah, yeah, everybody here knew about Judge Moore. Oh-ho-ho, yeah, good old boy we've known about Judge Moore for a long time.' While he was a Democrat. Nobody said a word. When he supposedly was attracted to inappropriately aged girls, he was a Democrat. For what it's worth."
Politico reported Moore switched his political affiliation from Democrat to Republican in 1992.
Moore has been battling allegations reported last week by The Washington Post he had sexual contact with a 14-year-old girl decades ago when he was in his 30s and pursued romantic relationships with three other teenagers.
A new accuser came forward Monday saying Moore, now 70, sexually assaulted her in the 1970s.
Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell called on Moore to drop his candidacy, saying he believes the women who accused Moore. Moore has denied the allegations.
Limbaugh said the GOP had made it clear they were going to prevent Moore from ever being seated in the Senate, "no matter what the real stories are here, and no matter what the evidence is."
