Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Fla., said many of the demonstrations are now no longer about racial equality.
He made his comments on a Tuesday tweet, where he said, “Many of these demonstrations are no longer about anything remotely related to racial equality," and called some protests "a Marxist/Maoist Mob.”
Attached to his tweet was a photo of a handmade sign, apparently from a protester. It read: “Support Our Poor Communities, Not Our Wealthy Men.”
On Monday, Rubio had tweeted: “100 leftist ‘protestors’ in Miami:
“-With Communist hammer & sickle & Che Guevara flag
“-Supporting #MaduroRegine in #Venezuela
“-At one point loudly chanting ‘Eat the rich.’
“These kind of ‘protests’ have NOTHING to do with racial equality.”
