Fifty-one percent of Alabama voters back Republican Roy Moore in the Alabama Senate race, while his opponent, Democrat Doug Jones, is favored by 40 percent, a new Raycom News Network poll reveals.

The poll results are identical to an Oct. 18 Raycom poll.

"I think there is any easy explanation," said pollster Jon Gray. "People are not paying attention right now.

"I still think this race is going to tighten up. I just think it's going to be late in the cycle when it gets tighter."

The survey polled 2,200 likely voters in Alabama. It has a margin of error of plus or minus 2 percent.

The election is Dec. 12.
