Roque "Rocky" De La Fuente, a California businessman, qualified Tuesday as a Republican candidate for U.S. Senate in Florida – while also being a Senate candidate in California.
De La Fuente, a multimillionaire developer, will face off against Gov. Rick Scott, R-Fla., in the Aug. 28 Republican primary, The Palm Beach Post reported.
De La Fuente listed a California address on his Senate candidate oath, and a Tampa, Florida address on the campaign check he used to pay his qualifying fee, The Palm Beach Post report said.
In 2016, De La Fuente lost bids for two different offices while running as a member of two different parties, The Palm Beach Post reported.
The developer has run for other offices in the past. In 2016 he ran for president, and in 2017, he challenged for mayor of New York City, The New York Times reported in 2017.
