Less than one week before the Florida primary for governor, Republicans Adam Putnam and Ron DeSantis are locked in a statistical tie, while Democrat Gwen Graham has a 12-point lead over her closest challenger, Philip Levine, according to a new poll.
The survey, conducted by the Florida Atlantic University Business and Economics Polling Initiative, found:
- 32 percent of Republicans back DeSantis, a Florida congressman, while 31 percent support Putnam.
- 29 percent of Democrats support Graham, a former congresswoman, compared to 17 percent for Levine. 11 percent support Jeff Greene; 11 percent back Andrew Gillum and 10 percent favor Christopher King.
The poll, conducted Aug. 16-20, surveyed 800 Florida registered voters. The margin of error is plus or minus 6.3 percentage points.
