President Donald Trump's longtime associate Roger Stone has complied with the House Russia investigators' request to provide the identity of his intermediary to WikiLeaks' founder Julian Assange, CNN reported Friday.

But Stone's attorney, Grant Smith, wouldn't say if Stone divulged the identity of his go-between.

"Mr. Stone has complied with the committee's requests," Smith told CNN. "No further statement will be issued."

Reps. Mike Conaway, R-Texas, and Adam Schiff, D-Calif., who are leading the House Intelligence Committee's Russia probe, told CNN on Thursday they were prepared to subpoena Stone if he didn't reveal the intermediary's identity.

After his closed-door testimony before the intelligence panel last month, Stone said he didn't identify the go-between because that person was a journalist and the conversation was off the record.

Stone has denied any direct contact with Assange and denied any advance knowledge of WikiLeaks' release of emails belonging to Hillary Clinton's 2016 campaign chairman John Podesta, CNN noted.
