Donald Trump's former adviser, Roger Stone, blasted Republican pollster Frank Luntz on Twitter on Tuesday for turning on Trump after the billionaire refused to hire him.
The comments by Stone included a link to
a Politico story from Tuesday, in which Luntz is quoted as saying that both Trump and Democratic candidate Bernie Sanders are "delivering a big 'f— you' to the elites in America," adding that "'f— you' doesn't solve anything."
Stone also questioned Luntz's competency as a pollster in another tweet.
Stone worked as Trump's campaign manager until early August, when
Stone stepped down because he felt like Trump's message "was getting lost" among "personality fights" that the real estate mogul was getting himself in with media personalities such as Fox News anchor Megyn Kelly.
After Luntz conducted a focus group following the first Republican presidential debate, in which several group members said they were turned off by his debate performance,
Trump called the pollster a "clown" and "a low-class slob."
Trump said that Luntz approached him in the past, looking to do a focus group for him in a "corporate capacity," which Trump said that he wasn't interested in.
The real estate mogul says that Luntz "went on to do some negative focus groups on television" in response.
